Knight St Art Space presents:
SWING

JAIME POWELL
Using
a series of cathartic gestures and cold objects, Powell explores the
relationship between flagellation and gratification. Fascinated with the
accumulative nature of the artifact, she satisfies aggressive
tendencies, destroying objects to imbue them with a quality both dead
and full. By manipulating light and bodies, Powell casts her audience
into a static space that straddles the boundary between perpetrator and
victim, light and dark; she questions the purpose of living whole.
